Joel Jackson Obituary

Joel Thomas Jackson, 85, of Butner, NC went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Tom, known to his friends and family, was born in Harnett County, NC. Tom was the son of the late Joel Franklin Jackson and Virginia Whitman Jackson. In addition to the parents, he is preceded in death by one son Joel Daniel Jackson.

He is survived by one sister Rebecca Vincent (Gene) of Durham, NC. Nephews Scott Vincent, Jeff Vincent and their respective family members including many cousins.

One of Tom's many passions were old cars. He frequently visited estate sales, auctions and flea markets in search of antique automotive parts to sell. He would say "Plenty of Junk", only buy "The Good Stuff". He also enjoyed staying at Indian Beach. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his cat, Pretty Girl. Tom was a friend to the many birds, animals and strays that visited his house.

The family would like to thank his caregivers with Peaceful Living Home Care of Wake Forest: James Miller, Wanda Degraffenried, Roxanne Conyer, Sierra Wilson and Kelsey Taborn. Granville County Meals on Wheels and their volunteers, your kindness and dedication to provided for the citizens of the county is unmeasurable.

A special thank you to the staff at Duke Regional Hospital and the caring members of the Hock Family Pavillion of Durham.

Honoring the family's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
