ABELARDO (LALO) MIRELES
LOS EBANOS/EDINBURG - Abelardo (Lalo) Mireles, 86, met his Savior face to face on February 18, 2009, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 28, 1922 and lived in Los Ebanos where he resided until 2003. He then moved to Edinburg along with his wife Emma to be closer to his children, to enjoy the ranch life and to be a part of the Rock Outreach Ministry. He had a Ministry of Singing to street kids who eventually called him grandpa. He was employed by Sam Fordyce Gravel Co., Heldt Bros., and a foreman with J&M Well Service and M&M Construction.
He is survived by his children Abelardo (Elma) Mireles III of Mission, Hector (Emma) Mireles of McAllen, Rolando (Lucy) Mireles of La Victoria, Sylvia Mireles of Weslaco, Sostenes (Mary Annabel) Mireles of Brownsville, David (Norma) Mireles of Mission, Ricardo (Rita) Mireles of Ramona California, Romeo (Martha) Mireles of Edinburg, Homar (Mary) Mireles of Webster Groves, Missouri, and Sonia Mireles of Edinburg. He is also survived by two sisters Irene M. Garcia, Librada Parras; one brother Roberto Mireles; 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Emma B. Mireles and his siblings Victor Manuel, Sostenes, Gregorio, Onesimo and Cecilia Olivo.
Visitation will be held today, February 19, 2009, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home from 1 1 to 9 p.m. a Celebration of Life service at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 20, 2009, at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Los Ebanos Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.

My mother is no longer able to get out much but she wanted to let the kids know that she has them in her prayers.
