McAllen - Alberto Diaz 94 of McAllen went peacefully to be with the Lord on February 15, 2023, at his home in McAllen. Funeral Services were held on Saturday February 18th and was Laid-to-Rest at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Father Thomas William Luczak of Holy Family Catholic Church, a longtime friend of the Diaz family, officiating the service. Alberto was born in Guadalajara Mexico to Eduardo and Rebecca Diaz on February 01, 1929. He married Mirthala Santamaria on March 11, 1951. In 1962 Alberto started Diaz Floor Covering and twenty years later, 1982, co-founded Diaz Floors and Interiors with his son Andres Diaz which continues as the valley's premier floor covering services. Alberto is preceded by his parents, son Alberto Diaz Jr., daughter-in-law Ofilia Diaz, daughter Miroslava Diaz, sister Rebecca Diaz, and great granddaughter Andrea Miroslava. Alberto Diaz is survived in death by his spouse Mirthala Diaz, daughter Maricela Diaz Evans, son-in-law William Ernest Evans, son Andres Diaz and spouse Cynthia Gracia Diaz, sisters Esther and Gloria and brother Eduardo. He was also blessed with twelve Grandchildren, seventeen great Grandchildren and eight great-great Grandchildren. He was deeply loved by all and may his legacy continue.
