Our heartfelt condolences to all of the Lugo family members and their loved ones. Alfredito, as Oscar (Avila) called him, will be missed. Alfredo was a good friend, a nice neighbor and an exciting running back for the Donna Redskins. Oscar recalls one of the best compliments he received was when Alfredito thanked Oscar for having taken him undet his wing while playing Varsity football as a Freshman and Oscar was a Senior. Alfredo proudly said that he continued to do the same for other players during his high school football career. Alfredo was a childhood neighbor. The Lugo family aross the street from the Villanueva family shared our grandmother and aunts. Our neighborhood produced Redskin players from the Lugos, the Villanuevas, the Pedrazas and the Benavides. May Alfredito (#33) rest in peace.

I remember when I was a kid going to Dannys cafe in donna to have breakfast with my dad Jim Thompson. We would run into Mr. Lugo we would sit down with him and have breakfast sometimes. Or he was just leaving but he always had a smile on his face and asked how we were. Alfredo Lugo was a good man he well not be frogotten. My condolences to the Lugo family.

What I remember most about Fred was his bright smile and his quick wit. I never knew anybody who didn't like him. I have known him since I was a sophomore in high school when I first met him.
