1926 - 2014

CAPTAIN ALFREDO D. ADAME Captain Alfredo D. Adame, Retired, was called to the home of our Lord on January 8, 2014. He was surrounded by the love of his family and was lifted up with song and prayer to begin his journey to the arms of our Lord. He was born October 3, 1926, son of Julian S. Adame and Maria Teresa de la Garza Adame. At 19 years of age, he proudly served in Germany during the World War II Occupation and continued to serve our country in the Texas National Guard. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He was an active member of the Donna Community, including the Kiwanis Club, Lion's Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a proud supporter of the Donna Redskins and past President of the Quarterback Club. He was a generous, honest man who extended his help to all. His family was his priority and supported all with his guidance and love. He is survived by his wife, Eva Yznaga Adame, his daughter, Ana Teresa Adame (whom he called, his favorite daughter, and she reminded him by saying Daddy-o I'm the only one you've got) and his sons, Xavier Alfredo Adame and George A. Adame (Lisa T. Adame). His brothers, Oscar Adame, Julian Adame, Leo Adame, and sisters, Irene Avila, Elia Melendez, and Norma Arispe. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven Anthony Anaya (Chrissy Anaya), Elyssa Zamora, Evana Zamora, Kevin Adame, Madison Adame and Sara Gabrielle Adame, and great-grandchildren, Anika and Aubreyella Anaya. Funeral mass will be today, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at the Donna City Cemetery. Military graveside service will be conducted by Sgt. Benito Alaniz V.F.W. Post #7473 of Elsa, Tx.
