Daniel Hernandez Obituary

DANIEL G. "EL CHARRO" HERNANDEZ
ALAMO - Daniel G. "El Charro" Hernandez, 78, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Lifecare Hospitals of South Texas in McAllen.
Born in Donna, Texas, Mr. Hernandez had lived in Alamo most of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Mr. Hernandez was a veteran of the US Army.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Pablo Hernandez; two sisters, Marciana Hernandez and Mage Hernandez; and parents, Filiberto and Estefana Hernandez.
Mr. Hernandez is survived by his wife, Minerva Hernandez of Alamo; a son, Jesus Hernandez of Weslaco; a daughter, Josefina (Ben) Hinojosa of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a sister, Ernestina Martinez of Donna; and four brothers, Erasmo Hernandez and Guadalupe Hernandez both of San Antonio, Texas, Santiago Hernandez of Donna, and Jose Hernandez of New Mexico.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 30, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Pallbearers will be Michael A. Hernandez, Benjamin Hinojosa, Christen V. Hernandez, Mark A. Castellanos, Mark Antonio Castellanos Jr., and Adrian Casas. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 101 of Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
