David Duran Obituary

DAVID H. DURAN, SR.
PHARR - David H. Duran, Sr., 81, died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at his residence in Pharr.
Born in Los Angeles, CA, Mr. Duran had lived in Pharr most of his life and retired as foreman at Davis Kirkland Gin Company in Santa Rosa, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita G. Duran.
Mr. Duran is survived by five sons, David (Elma Nora) Duran, Jr. of San Juan, Daniel (Nora) Duran of Pharr, Robert (Minerva) Duran of Houston, Texas, Ricardo Duran of Sealy, Texas and Ruben (Annie) Duran of Edinburg; a daughter, Diana Duran of Pharr; 12 grandchildren, Vangie (Daniel) Garza, David Duran III, Xavier Duran, Daniel Duran, Jr., Priscilla Duran, Krystal Duran, Vanessa Duran, Robbie Duran, Jr., Joey Duran, Tommy Duran, Karina Duran and Kayla Duran; a great-granddaughter, Isabella Duran; a sister, Dora Duran of Montana: and two sisters-in-law, Evangelina Garate and Guadalupe Garate, both of General Teran, N.L., Mexico.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today, February 26, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
