Doris and I were distant cousins both by relation and location. We only had the opportunity to visit face to face once in Austin while I was visiting my son in Houston. That happened in 2003. We had infrequent conversation by email and phone from that time. I regret that we did not meet more often as she was a very sharp and knowledgeable woman. Her Sister, Nelle, was my paternal grandmother. Though we had little opportunity to get to know each other better, I will miss her.

Kathy,
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Your mom was such a treasure and greatly loved by all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
