Eleazar Guerra

Pharr - Eleazar "Rosbel" Guerra, 84, was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 with his beloved family by his side. Eleazar will now be with his loving wife, Juanita N. Guerra, who recently went to be with the Lord just over a month ago. Their true love was expressed in their 61 years of marriage and they will be missed dearly.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Cristina and father, Pedro Guerra, his sister, Nidia Ramirez and brother, Cesar Guerra. He is survived by his children, Alejandra Salinas, Rosa Vargas (Eduardo) Eleazar Guerra Jr (Ana), Pedro Guerra (Esmer), Gabriel Guerra (Lucy), Ana Abad, (Tony), Cesar Guerra (Aurora), Romeo Guerra (Maria) and Pablo Guerra (Sally), two brothers (Roel and Raudel Guerra) and one sister (Hilda Castro), twenty two grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleazar was born in Los Guerra, Tamaulipas in 1936 and immigrated to the United States with his wife and children. He became a U.S. Citizen and retired after working with the City of Mission, TX for 27 years. He was a devout catholic and member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. He drove the Sunday school van and picked up children attending CCD, Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. He always instilled his values and faith to his family and friends.

Eleazar was an avid golfer and competed in many local tournaments. His accuracy earned him 5 hole-in-ones but he always wanted to reach 9 (one for every child he had). Even though he did not attain this goal, he never forgot his family and took great care of them. His honesty and integrity was not only displayed on the course, but also in his home. He will forever live in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31st, 2021 from 6pm - 9pm with rosary at 7:00 pm at De Leon Funeral Home in Pharr, TX. A funeral service will be held at 3pm at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens at 3:00 pm.
