Mary E. "Nanny" Pawley
Age 81, formerly of Janesville, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls, WI. She was born in Wilmington, DE, on Oct. 7, 1930, the daughter of George and Mary (Bunting) Mischler. Mary married William F. "Bill" Pawley on Nov. 28, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wilmington, DE. They moved to Janesville in 1973, coming from Fremont, CA, where Bill continued his employment at General Motors. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2005. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Janesville. Mary enjoyed crocheting, watching baseball, and was known for her cooking and baking, especially her peanut butter balls, fudge, homemade kahlua and brandy slushes. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her 3 children: Bill (Caryn) Pawley, Jr. of Yukon, OK, and their children, Kriste (David) Day and her children, Peyton, Morgan, and Parker Day; Jeanine Mendenhall of Milton and her children, Michelle (Louis III) Cervantes and her children, Bradley Rutherford, Louis Cervantes IV, and Mariah Cervantes, Kim (Shawn) Ambrose and her children, Makayla Mendenhall, Mara Rynes, and Becky Ambrose; Jack (Ellen) Pawley of Menomonee Falls, WI, and his children, Katie, Jacob, Kerianne, and Maryellen Pawley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin grandsons, Stephen and John Pawley; 3 brothers: George, James, and Joseph Mischler; and a sister, Jean Case.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville, with Fr. James Kuhn officiating. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A Rosary service will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with Visitation to follow from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY is assisting the family.
