Weslaco - Weslaco, TX - Georgina R. Guajardo, 87, passed away to be with the Lord, Friday, May 26, 2017 at her residence. Ms. Guajardo was born April 23, 1930 in Linares Nuevo Leon Mexico to Ramon & Barbara Ramirez. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nafteli "Sone" T. Guajardo; 2 brothers, Ramon Ramirez, Felipe Ramirez; 2 sisters Maria Lopez & Francisca Garcia. Ms. Guajardo is survived by 2 sons, Nafteli "Sonny" Guajardo, Jr (Rachel) of West Columbia, TX; Daniel Guajardo (Lettie) of Danciger, TX; 7 daughters, Azalia G. Richardson of Sweeny, TX; Graciela Guajardo of West Columbia, TX; Oralia Reyes (Jesse) of Lake Jackson, TX; Mary Guajardo of Angleton, TX; Cindy G. Garza, Esmer Guajardo, Cris Guajardo all of Weslaco, TX. Also surviving is her step-son, Ezequiel Guajardo (Frances) of Visalia, CA; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her grand dog, Ryder, her constant companion and protector who was always by her side. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. today, Monday, May 29, 2017 at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of The Angels with a 7:00 p.m. rosary. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Jose Garza. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Silverio G. Hernandez, Christopher Daniel Guajardo, Nafteli Guajardo III, Jonathan Ariel Garza & Hector Javier Hernandez, Jr. The Guajardo family would like to thank Melissa Ramirez for not only being her caregiver, but also her friend, providing love, kindness and laughter while caring for her as if she was her mother. A very special thanks to Yvette L. Clancy, RN; when the family lost their father five years ago, the Lord blessed the family by bringing Ms. Clancy into their lives, who loved and cared for her "little viejita" unconditionally. The Guajardo family would also like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Sylvia Marroquin-Garcia, RN, a long-time family friend who was always by the family's side during their mother's illness.
