Gerardo Salas Obituary
McALLEN - Gerardo "Jerry" Salas, age 37, went to be with our Lord on October 23, 2008, after a brief illness.
Jerry was born in McAlen, Texas on July 29, 1971 to George and Rosa Herrera Salas . He is a 1990 graduate of McAllen High School and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1990-1994.
Jerry was well known for his sense of humor and his willingness to help others in need.
Jerry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pedro and Rosa Herrera; and his paternal grandparents, Pablo and Adelaida Salas.
Jerry is survived by his parents, George and Rosa Salas; his brother, Gabriel Salas of Odessa; his sister, Mari Salas of McAllen; his aunt, Melva (Gavino) Villanueva of McAllen. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation services will be held at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen today, Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 from 1 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008. Pastor Paul Pool will officiate.
Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Jerry,
My friend little time did we spend and share but we hit it off so well. You helped me so much in many ways you would not even imagine so. I want to take this time to tell you how wonderful it was to share the moments that I did with you, you had a knack for making me laugh and that made our trip so much more enduring. I will miss my dance partner but one day we will see each other again. Hey, one more favor, say hello to my angel up there will you; thank you. I will always remember you and will keep you and your family close to my heart and prayers. Until we meet again.
