Guadalupe Rojas Obituary
Guadalupe was a lifelong resident of San Juan and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. He was a Fourth Degree Knight and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 15362. Guadalupe was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam. He was a City of Pharr firefighter for 23 years until his retirement in 2013, and served as a volunteer firefighter in the City of San Juan for 44 years, from 1977 to 2021. Guadalupe coached San Juan's PONY Baseball League from 1977 to 2013.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Maria Rojas.
Mr. Rojas is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rosalinda "Rosie" Rojas; six children, J.J. Gonzalez, Janice Rojas, , Stephanie Rojas, Mickey (Krystal) Rojas, Cecilia Rojas and Lisa Marie Rojas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, David (Terri) Rojas and Benji (Rosie) Rojas; aunt, Juanita Miller; uncle, Agustin (Frances) Rojas; cousin, Pat Rojas; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and his family of firefighters and Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center in Edinburg. Memorial service will take place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment of cremated remains will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Fire Service Funeral will be conducted by Pharr Fire Department Honor Guard.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.

My condolences to the Rojas family on the passing of Lupe as I knew him as a teenage friend. I remember him as a great mentor to his siblings. Always had a great smile and an uplifting personality. May he Rest In Peace in God´s glory. Prayers for his family.
