Guillermo Mauro Trevino

1929 - 2017

Los Saenz / Roma - Guillermo Mauro Trevino (88) fulfilled his earthly obligation and entered the House of the Lord Saturday, November 25, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Los Saenz, Texas. Guillermo ("Memo") was born on January 15, 1929, in Escobares, Texas to Guillermo Trevino and Andrea Escobar Trevino. At nine years of age, his widowed mother married Agapito Saenz. Guillermo is preceded in death by his father, mother, step-father, sister Martina Saenz, his in-laws Ramon and Marcela Montalvo, and his loving son Luis Alberto Trevino (Roma/Eagle Pass). Guillermo is survived by his wife of 61 years Elva, devoted daughter Maricela Trevino Pena, grandchildren Mauro and Nelsa Pena of Edinburg, daughter-in-law Maureen (Luis) Trevino, grandchildren Roberto and Helena Trevino from Eagle Pass, brother Jose Carlos (Lydia) Saenz, sister Maria Albina (Lucio Eden Sr. +)Gonzalez, brother-in-law Roberto + (Gloria) Montalvo, sisters-in-law Marcela + (Nicolas +) Riojas, Nelsa M. Solis +, Elma (Dario) Trevino, Lydia Elgueseba and numerous nieces and nephews on whom he doted.

Guillermo embodied a lifestyle of service to God and Country, he dedicated himself to law enforcement and lived his life "straight as an arrow." He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in November of 1956 and returned home to proudly serve 40 years in the U.S. Government, the majority of which was with U.S. Customs Service.

Guillermo will be missed by all who knew him because of his devotion to God, his family, and friends. He was an admirable man whose memories will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

Viewing was held at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home in Roma Sunday, November 26 from 2-8 with Rosary at 6:00. Viewing will continue today, Monday, November 27, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. His Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church at 3:00 in Los Saenz. His pallbearers will be Ruben D. Trevino, Joel Montalvo Marin Lopez, Felipe Rivas, Juan Carlos Saenz, and Lucio Eden Gonzalez Jr. Interment will follow at Los Saenz Cemetery for a military burial.
