Josefa Partida "Pepa" Pardo

1927 - 2017

Edinburg - Josefa "Pepa" Partida Pardo, 89, of Edinburg, Texas entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Senior Care of Edinburg.

Josefa was born December 19, 1927 in Edinburg, Texas to Leopoldo Partida and Irene Morales Partida. She lived in Edinburg most of her life as well as Ralls, Texas. Josefa was a beloved wife to Leocadio B. Pardo for 52 years until his death parted them in February 15, 1997.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Silvestra (Jesus) Rosales, Gregoria (Felix) Rodriguez, Victoria (Juan) Ponce, Maria Partida; a brother, Santos Partida; and a great-grandson, Leon Rivera.

Josefa is survived by six children, Raul (Elia) Pardo of Dallas, Texas, Frank (Vickie) Pardo of McAllen, Texas, Gilbert (Linda Rodriguez) Pardo, Maria Hilda Rivera, both of Lubbock, Texas, Armando (Polly) Pardo of Oak Point, Texas, and Diana P. Molina of Edinburg, Texas; a sister, Dolores (Elias) Vecchio of Abernathy, Texas; a brother, Fidel (Mary) Partida of Sunnyside, Washington; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; extended family members; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Josefa was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. She was a proud member of the Guadalupanas group and volunteered with their dinners and fundraisers. Josefa also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and making crafts specially for gift giving. Most importantly Pepa was a wonderful living wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who lived her life as a Christian woman. We were blessed to have her in our hearts and we will truly miss her.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Senior Care of Edinburg for the gorgeous care and support offered to their mother by their personnel and also by the considerate Allstate Hospice group.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
