Josue Molina Obituary

MCALLEN - Josue G. Molina was called to be with our Lord on January 1, 2019.

He was born on April 22, 1935, to G.B. Molina and Sara I. Molina. He attended McAllen schools and graduated from McAllen High School in 1954, where he was very active in football, baseball, basketball and a member of the National Honor Society. He attended Schreiner Institute in Kerrville for 2 years then was drafted into the ARMY where he served 2 years. He married his high school sweetheart on May 11, 1958. Josue was an active member of El Divino Redentor United Methodist Church, where he served in many committees. He was a faithful volunteer of the church food pantry and supporter of his wife's many activities. Mr. Molina loved sports and never missed Roland's football games, Iris's volleyball games, and Norma's band concerts and performances. For many years he coached Little League baseball games and adult softball teams. When he could not find a sponsor for his team, he sponsored teams himself. He was a quiet man, a good listener, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Molina will be greatly missed.

Josue is preceded in death by his wife, Olga S. Molina; parents, G.B. and Sara Molina; two brothers, Ricardo Joel Molina, Moises Ezequiel Molina; and a sister, Martha Molina.

He is survived by three children, Josue Rolando (Elisa) Molina, Sylvia Iris Molina, Norma Laura Franco; four grandchildren, Josue D. (Amy) Molina, Sara B. Molina, Roland J. Molina, Timothy Nance; two great-grandchildren, Mikaela R. Molina, Josue J. Molina; and a brother, Arturo Molina.

In lieu of flowers, send donations to the United Methodist Campus Ministry of Rio Grande Valley or the RGV Foodbank.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, January 3, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, at El Divino Redentor United Methodist Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.

Military honors to be conducted by U.S. Post 8788.

God bless you, JOSUE, I knew. You as a young man, in high shool, was behind you in football where i played from 1954 to 1956, and took care of you as a patient when i came back as a doctor from the US Army and took care of you for many. Years until and after you had your heart problems and eventually your cerebral stroke and took care of you until my wifes. Health impacted my practice and i had to retire from my active practice of medicine. God bless you and keep. You in his kingdom where i am sure you willl be with your wonderful wife Olga whom i also served as a doctor for many years too.

My condolences to the Josue Molina Family. I knew Josue when I was a teenager at El Divino Salvador UMC of McAllen, Texas in the early 1960's and later when I was pastor of El Mesías UMC of Mission, Texas. Josue and his wife Olga were faithful Christians who served with great love and care in the United Methodist Church. I thank God for their ministry of loving care and service. May the Spirit of Comfort console the Molina Family.
