I wish to extend sympathies to the Stroud family on the passing of their mother whom I remember and admired for her commitment to education and reading. I knew her daughter Lynette in high school and I wish the family comfort at this difficult time.

It is with heartfelt sincerity, I extend my condolences of the passing of your mama and grandmama. I had the privilege of knowing, loving and respecting Mrs. Stroud and I can honestly say my life is better for it. Her reflection was one of great faith and great compassion and selflessly shared that with the world. I'm sure Mr. Stroud and her two sons were waiting with arms wide open upon her arrival to her forever celestial home. Rest in Paradise Mrs. Stroud and please do know you left the world a better place because of your presence in it.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Stroud Family. I met the Stroud family when we first immigrated from Mexico to McAllen . Byron and I ran the streets at " La Paloma" and Mrs. Stroud was always so nice to me. She was highly respected in the school district .
The city of McAllen is truly fortunate to have such an effective citizen in its constituency. God Bless Mrs. Stroud and the entire family.

My deepest and sincere condolences to all the Stroud Family. May God´s peace be with all the family during this difficult time. I have many fond memories of "Jeannie" and all the Stroud family. We grew up with all her children while she worked as a paraprofessional teacher at Sam Houston Elementary school on 16th street and other public schools in McAllen. I was honored to have known Jeannie while living and growing up in McAllen. She had a big heart and loved all those that were around her. I had the privilege and opportunity to personally know Jeannie through her husband Dave as we worked together at the General Services Administration and the United Border Patrol Sector Headquarters in McAllen, Texas. The gates of Heaven are open for you Jeannie. I know you are celebrating with your beloved Dave and all your loved ones in God´s glory. May you have eternal rest forever. We will miss you my friend.

I am so grateful to have known Mrs. Stroud and was saddened to hear of her passing; however, knowing that she served our Lord Jesus Christ, I know she is at peace with Him. I enjoyed hearing the history of Black people in this area and the history of Bethel Baptist Church from her. Our sincerest condolences to her family.

So sad to hear. Mrs. Stroud was the library aide at Sam Houston Elementary School (S.16th street) which I attended. Mrs. Stroud was a very caring lady who helped all students. Mrs. Stroud and my mother met at a school function and became friends after that. To the Stroud family, take comfort in knowing that your mother is no longer in pain and suffering. She is in a better place now. Mrs. Stroud, may you Rest In Peace.

Lula Stroud was a wonderful friend and a wealth of historical information as I researched the African American community in McAllen, Texas. She will be missed by the community, as she was a pilar of patience, and understanding as we gathered information about Bethel Baptist Church and those who attended there. Condolences to her family. I wish Lula love and peace on her homegoing.

Aunt Gene, we're saddened to hear of your passing but happy for your heavenly homegoing. For 91 years, we are thankful for your uplifting, loving, kind spirit in our lives. I cherish many memories from McAllen summer visits to July family reunions to seeing you at Aunt Iva's 100th birthday celebration. Know that you are loved by all and will truly be missed! On behalf of the Will Earl Williams family, we send our love and sympathies to our Stroud cousins and your families.
