Margarita Pena Obituary
NEW BRAUNFELS - Margarita Lopez Pena entered eternal rest on February 21, 2007, in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 103. Mrs. Pena was born in Leon, Guanajuato on December 16, 1903. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pablo M. Pena Sr., two grandchildren Luis Pena and Marissa Menchaca.
Mrs. Pena was survived by two sons, Luis (Camila) Pena of Ventura, California, Pablo M. (Angie) Pena of McAllen, and three daughters Maria Potter of McAllen, Amelia (Joel) Menchaca of New Brunfels, Texas Lee (Jearl) Ledbetter of Lockhart, Texas. She is survived by sixteen grandchildren Rita Balli, Yolanda and Lilia Pena of California, Juan Pena of McAllen, Aurora P. Ochoa of Mission, Lupe, Luis, Alfredo, Pablo Tevino, Gene Potter, Margot Trevino and Dinorah De Leon all of McAllen, Margarita Kelly of New Braunfels, Texas, Leticia Cofield of Cedar Park, Texas, Diana Dietz of Fentress, Texas, Patricia Adams of Schulenburg, Texas. She is survived by 47 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren and 3 great-great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pena was a dedicated mother who devoted her life to her family. She was a true matriarch. She will always be remembered and loved by her family for her great sense of dedication, and unselfish love.
Pallbearers will be Lupe Trevino, Luis Trevino, Alfredo Trevino, Pablo Trevino, Gene Potter, and Juan Pablo Pena, honorary pallbearers will be all great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Ceballos Funeral Home, 1023 North 23rd Street in McAllen (956) 682-3431. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ceballos Funeral Home.
