RAPID CITY - Marjorie Louise Podoll, 86, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Fountain Springs Healthcare Center at Rapid City.
Marge was born July 8, 1924 to Lester and Margurite [Roach] Clark at Madison, South Dakota. She received her education in a one room country schools and graduated from Madison High School in 1942. During the war she helped build superchargers for PT boats. Her first husband, Peter Brugman, was killed in the "Battle of the Bulge". Michael, her first born, was the son of her second husband, Rudolf Kane. In 1951 she married Marlow Podoll in Brookings, SD. Tim, her second son was born in 1952. They owned an automotive supply store in Watertown, SD until they retired in 1974 to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
She did volunteer work in the nursery of the Rio Grande Regional Hospital and the Lutheran Church, which filled a lot of her time. The rest of her time was spent on the golf course. And she would want you to know that she had 3 holes-in-one. She was also quite fond of a tall woodcarver in Texas.
Survivors include her two sons: Michael Podoll of Forrest Knolls, CA and Tim Podoll of Rapid City, SD; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister: Phyllis; her two brothers: Leo and Doug; and her husband: Marlow.

Marjorie's wishes are to be cremated with no services. Inurnment of her cremains will take place in September of 2011 at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas with her husband, Marlow.
