I was sorry to hear about your loss Mrs. DeVoe and family. I wrestled on Coach Devoe's first team at WC. Mick was an outstanding coach and inspiration to me. He was also a great roll model and instilled in me a confidence which I have carried on through my life. Our prayers are with you.

I taught high school for 35 years, and I'm not sure I ever came across too many people who influenced the lives of more students than Mr. DeVoe. I coached varsity girls volleyball for 6 years, knew nothing much of the sport but learned as I went alone. After an undefeated season, multiple conference and regional championships, I always told people I coached my team the way my wrestling coach coached us at West Catholic high school: we drilled constantly, outworked every other team in our practices, and every starting position was earned my merit. Most of what I learned about character and attitude during those years was taught to me by "Mick." He was a class act every step of the way.

Some of my best memories were my conversations with Mr. Devoe during my football career. He was a good man.

It is with sadness to hear of Mick's passing. I had benefited from Mick's teachings in restoring Historical houses in the early 1980's. I even helped him with building a house for one our neighbors. Mick inspired me to purse work in the construction industry and now a successful 30 plus years in the electrical industry. Blessed to have known him and will see him again. God Bless

Deepest sympathy to Mary, and family. I am Mick's cousin. My dad was Keith DeVoe, Kenneth DeVoe's twin brother. I was not aware of all of Mick's. Accolades, but do remember he was a great football player, and the fun times at family gatherings. RIP Mick

Sorry to hear about Mick's passing. My brother Tom and I were on his first West Catholic High School wrestling team. We were all new to the sport but he brought us a long way in a short period of time. He ws a great teacher, coach, and also a great friend. Our prayers are with him and your family.
