Olivia Acosta Obituary

Alamo - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Olivia, who is now in the loving arms of Our Lord, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at her residence in Alamo.

Olivia was the light of her family, blessing everyone with her love, dedication, and unwavering care. Her unconditional love, support, and kindness touched all who knew her, regardless of who they were.

Olivia's quiet dignity, class, and elegance were evident in all she did. Her generosity, focus on family, and ability to bring peace to any situation were among her many remarkable qualities. Raised by her wonderful parents, Angel and Conchita, she thrived on their love, which she passed on to her own family.

As a devoted wife and mother to three boys, Olivia nurtured and guided them into manhood. Her kindness, charity, and unconditional acceptance deeply influenced her children. Olivia was a shining example of a loving wife, married for 62 years to her beloved husband, Bob. Her extraordinary love extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, known affectionately as "grandma" to all. Her radiant love touched everyone to magnitudes we will not forget.

Olivia's warmth extended beyond her family to friends and the community. At the restaurant she helped manage, her beautiful smile and welcoming embrace made her a beloved figure. Her daily efforts to make everyone feel comfortable and happy made her an institution at the restaurant.

Olivia was as tough as she was loving, fighting with all her strength to stay with her family. The Acosta family is eternally grateful for the outpouring of love and respect for Olivia from friends and the community. They extend their deepest appreciation to Audrey Jones, M.D., and to Juan J. Moreno, P.A., for their guidance and friendship during this time. The family also expresses undying gratitude to Dr. Halperin and the medical team at MD Anderson for their relentless pursuit of treatment while maintaining Olivia's quality of life and dignity.

Mrs. Acosta is survived by her husband, Humberto "Bob" Acosta; three sons, Robert "Bobby" (Marsha) Acosta, Edward "Eddie" (Maricruz) Acosta, Christopher Acosta; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Saul Osuna, Humberto Osuna, Mario Osuna; and two sisters, Maria Ramirez and Guadalupe Osuna.

A rosary was held Monday, June 17, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
