Onesimo Flores

The Woodlands, Tx - Onesimo Flores, Jr. 81, passed away on August 19, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born on July 3,1944, to Onesimo Flores, Sr. and Eva Flores. A graduate of Rio Grande City High School and Pan American College, Onesimo earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry. He began his career as a math teacher at La Joya High School. He later transitioned to a career in pharmaceutical sales where he was regularly recognized nationally for his achievements in sales. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and grandfather and beloved Uncle who will be greatly missed by his family.

Onesimo was married to his wife Aida of fifty-four years. His family includes his children Anna Lisa Gendron (Greg) of Houston, TX, and their daughters Sydney, Natalie, and Patricia; Diana Strobel (Tom) of St. Paul, MN, and their children Ryan, Anna Lisa, Isabella, and Dylan; Laura Toomey (Niall) of The Woodlands, TX, and their children Sean, Liam, and Abigail; David Flores (Mikaela) of Austin, TX.; and by his sister, Dora Pena, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friend and Godfather to his son David, Mr. Manuel Balli. Onesimo was preceded in death by his parents, Onesimo Flores, Sr. and Eva Flores, and his eldest sister, Lydia Vera.

His life will be remembered and celebrated beginning with a visitation on Friday, September 5, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Valley Memorial. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, at 10 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church in Alton, TX, followed by burial at Valley Memorial Gardens. A reception will immediately follow the interment at the funeral home.
