Penny Hull Pettitt

Ft. Worth - Penny Hull Pettitt, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on May 15, 1944, Penny lived a life full of love, laughter, elegance, and service.

She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Byron "Buck" Pettitt, on September 3, 1966. Together, they built a beautiful life in McAllen, Texas, raising a family and giving generously to the community they loved. Buck preceded her in death, and now they are joyfully reunited.

Penny is survived by her sons, Anthony Nowlan Pettitt and Alexander Hull Pettitt, and their wives, Amy High Pettitt and Amanda Lynn Pettitt. She was a proud and adoring Mamou to her four grandchildren: Tanner, Elle, Lainey and Lexi Pettitt. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Ruth Grazier Myers.

Penny brought sparkle to everything she touched. Always dressed to the nines, she had a flair for celebration and style. Holidays were events filled with heartfelt traditions, festive décor, and a warm, welcoming spirit. She was the life of every party, with a sharp wit, a kind heart, and boundless energy.

A devoted community leader and volunteer, Penny was deeply involved in the P.E.O. Sisterhood, the Women of St. John's Episcopal Church, Junior League, her local chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha, and the International Women's Board. Her presence and passion left a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to serve beside her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in McAllen, Texas, with a reception to follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association or to a local charity close to your heart, just as Penny would have done.
