Porfirio Gonzalez Obituary
Porfirio is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Barrientes Gonzalez, and his parents and siblings (Alberto Gonzalez, Epifanio Gonzalez, and Josefa Sanchez) and step mother Maria Gonzalez, who helped raise him.
Porfirio is survived by his sister, Victoriana Aldape, brother, Albert Aldape, and his children, Mary Elizabeth Gonzalez, Rolando Gonzalez (Diane), Irma G. Rodriguez (Johnny), Ricardo Gonzalez (Stella), Reymundo Gonzalez, Cynthia Gonzalez (Joe). He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Miguel Gonzalez, Stephen Gonzalez, Cassandra Villalpando, Kimberly Gonzalez, Anthony Gonzalez, Veronica Maldonado, Christopher Gomez, Daniel Gomez, Gabriel Gonzalez, Miranda Gonzalez and his seven great grandchildren, Robyn, Hailey, Alex, Everlie, Aubree, Kayleb, and Eleanor.
Porfirio served in the Air Force during WWII and was dedicated to his family all his life. He was loved by his family and extended family and will be missed by all. He was also a long time employee of Valley Ready Mix Concrete Company in Weslaco for many years.
Visitation will take place Monday, October 23, 2017 at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home in Weslaco from 1 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 10 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. A Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
All Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home, 6705 N FM 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596.

I am so sorry to hear that Tio Pilo has passed. He was truly a gentle soul. From the beginning of my joining the Barrientes - Santellana family 38 yrs. ago, Tio Pilo and Tia Vicky always treated me like family. It has been a blessing to me and my family to share many vacations visiting family in the RGV. My condolences to his (my) extended family. I love and miss you all.

A great void will always be in our lives and in our hearts, My daughters will always remember you as their grampa even though you weren't. In blood but you were more then that in life . You were full of love, a man that stood for dignity ,respect,, honor and full of life. Will never forget the hugs and kisses on our cheeks every time we would see you.
