Rene was my friend and neighbor in Mission Manor, and the principal at MHS when I was a teacher there. I am so very sorry for the loss and would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family.

What a great man, what a wonderful, caring father to those like me who so longed for fatherly advise. It was because of the constant guidance and affirmation he so lovingly gave to me, that I went on to further my education. Few men of his caliber. Forever loved and admired by me and so many more. My most sincere condolences to his family as he was a great man whom I remember fondly as an assistant principal at Mission H.S. during my time there from 1984-1988. He would take the time to sit and talk to us as we came into the cafeteria in the mornings and would be so down to earth and joke with us. He was always able to lift our spirits up and encouraged us to be all that we could be. This once young girl from Madero will always be appreciative, for I went on to receive my Bachelor's degree from UTPA and went on to have a career in Human Resources. May you rest in peace Mr. Reyna.

I loved Mr Reyna. He was my Mission High School principal in 1982. He gave me a lot of hope with his guidance and wisdom when I was a mixed up teenage kid. Mr Reyna was my favorite Principal. He had a unique way connecting with his students. Always fair and tough when needed. He certainly made a difference in many young MHS students. Job well done Sir. RIP Mr Reyna.
