Ricardo Bocanegra Obituary
PHARR - Ricardo "Ricky" Bocanegra, 27, died Monday, January 26, 2009, in San Juan.
Born in San Jose, California Ricky had lived in Pharr all of his life and was the owner of Smoke Stop Shop in San Juan. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Benito Bocanegra.
Ricky is survived by his wife; three children; his mother, Alma G. Bocanegra; two sisters, Julissa (Mauricio Perez) Bocanegra, Krystle Ann (Victor Rios) Bocanegra, all of Pharr; maternal grandmother, Dionicia R. Gonzalez, of McAllen; and paternal grandparents, Primitivo and Maria Bocanegra, of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 3, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.

Sometimes I like to come back and look at your pictures, even though I was about 9 Years old when it happen I still remember you calling me your princess and when the firefighters had to put out the fire in the canal behind your house because someone decided to throw a firework on dry grass (we all know who that was haha). I also remember coming home from school the day after it all happened and seeing my mom on the floor with your pictures in her hand. Miss you Always

it has almost been a year but i don't think a day has gone by that your name hasn't been mentioned...your memory lives within the heartz of those who were blessed to have known you...my prayerz go out to your wife & beautiful children...although i do not know her personally her strength is moving...im sure each day is harder than the last but she continues on for the sake of your kids...the definition of a strong woman & im sure she learned alot of that from a strong person like you...you alwayz had a way to make people smile Ricky...your legacy livez on alwayz & forever

I knew Ricky from High School. He was a sweet guy and always had a smile for anyone. You are now God's angel and you will be looking over us all. Through your children, you will always be remembered.
