SIMON TREVINO Obituary
MERCEDES - Simon Trevino, 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Catholic War Veterans and a Eucharistic Minister. Simon was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro & Luciana Trevino, sisters, Lupita & Evangelina Trevino, Margarita Fonseca. Surviving him is his wife, Emma Sepulveda Trevino, son, Joe D. (Christina) Trevino of La Feria, daughter, Gloria (Joe) Cabarubio of Mercedes, brothers, Jesus (Anabelia) Trevino of Mercedes, Pedro (Estella) of Edinburg, Jose (Cruz) Trevino of Brownsville, Armando Trevino of Bakersfield, CA. sisters, Francisca (Eduardo) Marroquin of Toledo, OH and Rosalinda Echavarria of La Feria. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Marco Antonio Garcia, James Diego Cabarubio, Robert Sepulveda, M. D., Ruben Sepulveda, Jesus Trevino, Jr. Jaime Salinas. Honorary pallbearers are his grandson, Christian Joseph Trevino and great-grandson, Marco Antonio Garcia, Jr. Visitation will begin today, September 29, 2011 at 10 am till 9 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7 pm at the funeral home chapel. Funeral Mass will be said Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Mercedes. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes.

I knew Simon Trevino when I worked at the Progreso bridge in the 60's & 70's. My father, Rogelio Becerra, and Simon were work companions at the International bridge. I found out about Simon's passing during my Memorial Day weekend trip when I asked Nick at the bridge. Sorry for your loss. RIP Simon.

I was so sorry to recently learn of Simon's passing. He worked for my father at the Progreso Bridge for many years. I remember fondly the barbecues under the bridge and his wonderful sense of humor. My condolences to his family.

simon was a person i met many years ago while i was working at emilio's.i would alway enjoy his stories about his work and fishing.our prayer are with the family.he will be greatly miss.r.i.p. simon

Tia, Gloria, and Joey, May you and your children take comfort in knowing that you have an angel watching over you. My tio will always be remembered for his smile and humor. I know he loved his children and grandchildren very much. He will continue to live in our hearts and we will cherish his memories forever.
