Sylvia Flores Obituary

Edinburg - And Jesus Wept

Sylvia Espericueta Flores, 53, was born and raised in Edinburg, TX. God called his daughter back home on May 29th 2016 at 1:35pm on highway 107 and Cesar Chavez. His gift was born on September 5th 1962 to Beatrice Zamora Espericueta and Jose "Roy" Espericueta. Sylvia was the first of six girls born and the seventh of twelve. Her brothers are Joe, Leroy, Roland (deceased), Homer, Freddy, and Noel. Her sisters are Dina Perez, Elma Esparza, Linda Hernandez, Edna Gorena, and Dolores Anzaluda. She was married to Charlie Flores on May 27th 1982. Together they made seven children: Carlos Daniel, Andrew Christopher, Sarah Hope, Angela Faith, Jacob Alexander, Isaiah John, Joseph Thomas (deceased). Her son Andrew gave her two grandsons Caleb and Logan.

Public Viewing will be on Wednesday June 1st, at El Buen Pastor, 705 E University Dr, Edinburg, Tx, from 5-9pm with a service at 7pm. On Thursday, June 2nd, her funeral, also at place at El Buen Pastor, will start at 1pm. If anyone wishes to send flowers or cards send them to her home, where she spend her time praising our Lord and savior Jesus Christ: El Buen Pastor. In lieu of flowers or cards contact her daughter Sarah Hope Flores at (956) 457-2688.

When God ask's Sylvia what she did with the time He gave her she will say I did your will at every turn, climb, valley, peak, shadow and depth. Sylvia took the life God gave her and put it to good use through her fellowship and charity in the community, across the globe, and at her church. She raised her seven children in the church and gave to the Lord seven more disciples. Sylvia changed lives everywhere she went; she was God's tool to preach and teach His gospel. Although she will be greatly missed her family knows she is enjoying the splendors of heaven as she is in God's mighty presence. John 11:35 was her favorite verse "Jesus wept;" it is the shortest verse in the bible just like her time on His earth. She will be sorely missed and greatly loved.

My deepest condolences to the Espericueta and Flores family. I would go years without seeing her and every time I ran into her she was always happy. She had a very special laugh that was contagious. My heart is saddened as I read about the loss of a beautiful girl --- who had grown to a beautiful woman. Words cannot express how this makes me feel. I am more saddened because I did not get to see how that beautiful girl grew to be the beautiful woman that I am reading about. My heart and prayers go to Charlie, the Flores family and the Espirucueta Family. May God provide you all the strength and peace regarding your loss. Remember that she will always be in your hearts and in those lovely memories.

To the entire family of my dearest friend, Sylvia, I send my sincerest sympathy. Sylvia was a very special person. She never saw the bad on any issue or person only the possiblities. She would always say forgive and don't give up, keeping on working for you know who you are working for. She was a kind, caring, loving, and encouraging woman. Whenever I need encouragement she was there holding me up when I was down. Up to the very end she was working for the UMW. She was helping me and working on the finishing touches on the Mission u Children's flyer she created. She loved to do God's missions through the UMW. For you the family she leaves here on earth, continue to carry on her work and legacy and celebrating her life, for as long as you do this she will be alive. God grant you the peace that surpasses understanding during this time. I know that Sylvia is now in the joyful, loving arms of her Heavenly Father where she was received with these words: "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'. I will miss you very much and love you as a sister forever. Until we meet again. BFF

My Dearest Condolences Charlie to you and your Children. I still remember the day you got married like it was yesterday...Then when your first two boys were born. After college, Going to your home and catching up with Sylvia and You was a true Blessing! But, the most dear Memory occurs everytime I pass by your Parents house where you and Sylvia settled down after getting married and before moving to the outskirts of Edinburg. My Mom and I are praying for you and are going to miss Her very very much. Sincerely, Obed.

Sylvia loved Jesus. On May 29, 2016, Jesus, her Savior, reached down from heaven and took her into His arms and escorted Sylvia to Paradise. While we cry tears and miss her here on earth, the angels in heaven cheered as she walked into heaven with that great big smile of hers. We shall miss you, Sylvia Espiricueta Flores, but you will live on in our hearts and in the work that El Buen Pastor does to carry forth your passion and testimony. Rest in Paradise, sweet friend.
