William Arthur Henry

1934 - 2016

McAllen - William Arthur Henry passed away on September 22, 2016 at the Pax Villa Hospice Facility. Bill was born September 13, 1934 in Tampico, Mexico. His family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where he graduated from high school as valedictorian of Corpus Christi Academy. Bill attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating with a business degree in accounting in 1956. While at the university, he was an active member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. After his army service, Bill worked in Dallas for 43 years as an accountant for several major food corporations. While living in Dallas, he was a member of the Methodist church. In 2001 Bill retired to McAllen to be close to family. His last years were spent at the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home where he always had a smile and a joke for all he encountered. The family wishes to thank the staff for their compassionate care.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mabel Henry. He is survived by his brother, Cameron Henry and wife, Kathryn; two nephews, Kevin and Kyle Henry of Austin; a niece, Carol Wilkins of Houston and their families.

A graveside service will be held Monday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 S. Inspiration Rd., Mission, Texas with Pastor Jesse Gonzalez of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Kreidler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
