William Pollard Obituary

Edinburg - William Robert Pollard, Jr., 60, was known to everyone as a dedicated, hardworking, humble man who would do anything for his family. He will be deeply missed. He breathed his last breath on April 10, 2022 and entered into eternal rest. He was a faithful member at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Edinburg. Bill worked many years in restaurant management at Applebee's, Johnny Carino's, Olive Garden, Golden Corral, and Fuddruckers. He later made a career change and worked as a construction manager with NM Construction. The last six years he worked as a Project Coordinator/Proposal Writer with Raba Kistner, Inc.

He was a strong and sensitive man who loved cooking, wood working, and playing his guitar. Bill was a wonderful husband and an amazing father. Family was everything to him, and he loved being a husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother, and son.

He was born on September 4, 1961 to William and Beatrice Pollard in Hamilton, Ohio and is preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Pollard, father-in-law Lauro Hinojosa, and brother-in-law Saul Hinojosa.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Norma Lisa Hinojosa Pollard, their two beautiful daughters Sarah Pollard and Hannah (Kevin Lince) Pollard, two beloved grandsons David William Yanez Pollard and August Gabriel Lince Pollard; sisters Melissa (Joe) Gustavus and Margaret Pollard; mother-in-law Raquel Hinojosa; nieces Tiffany (Reggie) Gay and Brittany Gustavus, nephews Jeremy and Duston Gustavus, Jacob, Marcus, and Simon Hinojosa; sister-in-law Laurah Hinojosa; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Bill was under the care of Dr. Hussein Tawbi at MD Anderson, and Dr. Suresh Ratnam at Texas Oncology. He was so appreciative of them and their medical teams, who were always so caring, encouraging, and supportive.
