Rio Grande City - WILMA JEAN WALKER LAGRANGE beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, died peacefully on December 1, 2018, with her husband of 73 years by her side. She was born on March 22, 1925, in Hanover, Indiana on the banks of the Ohio River. Wilma was born to the late James Leonard Walker and Clara Jones Walker. Wilma was a popular book reviewer for local clubs, church organist and choir director, one of the founding members of St. John United Methodist Church, lay delegate to the Methodist Annual Conference, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher for over 60 years, church Administrative Board Treasurer, writer and publisher of the St. John United Methodist Church newsletter up until October 2018, and former President of United Methodist Women.

Whether at home or church or the community, her quick wit and spunk were hard to miss, and she will be greatly missed.

Wilma, such a warm, beautiful person. I always loved her dry humor, we were fellow "Hoosiers" planted in the Rio Grande Valley. You will be greatly missed, I am sure Heaven is smiling. My sympathy to the family, God bless you all with the peace of knowing you will see each other again.
