Bernard Kellicut Obituary

Kellicut, Bernard “Bernie”; age 82; of Alma, formerly of Shepherd; passed away Monday December 29, 2014; at the Woodland Hospice House. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 2 p.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with Fr. Fred Kawka and Deacon Mike Smith, officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. There will be a Scripture Service on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 7 p.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 2 to 8 p.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Church. Bernard was born Augist 20, 1932, in Alma, the son of Frank and Jessie (LaPaugh) Kellicut. He married Irene R. Gross August 25, 1956; she preceded him in death on March 10, 2007. He then married Margaret Hinton in 2008. Bernard was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Shepherd. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, the Shepherd Lions Club, and the Shepherd Chamber of Commerce. Bernie owned and operated Kelli Home Improvement before retiring from Delfield. Bernie is survived by his wife, Margaret; 6 children, Mike (Margaret) Kellicut of Peach Tree City, GA, Dave (Kathy Schultz) Kellicut of Hendersonville, TN, Russ (Amy) Kellicut of Holland, Howard (Marty) Kellicut of Traverse City, Nancy (James Poteet) of Charlotte, NC, John (Jana) Kellicut of Greenwood, IN; 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; 2 brothers, Charles (Joann) Kellicut of Mt. Pleasant and James Kellicut of Lake Odessa; and 1 sister, Geraldine Courtney of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene; and 3 brothers, Walt, Mel, and Dean; and 1 sister, Audra Shook. Memorials may be given to Woodland Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd.

I am so very sorry for your loss. You know that I thought the world of your Dad and Mom. They will always hold a special place in my heart. As will all of you kids. I loved being your neighbor and have many, many great memories of playing cards and being snowed in. Also of eating Bernies left over perch.
