Eirinn (Kevin) O'Neill Patterson, age 64, of Hudson, FL formerly of Alma passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Bay Point Hospital in Hudson, FL. Eirinn was born June 15, 1957 the son of Michael and Ruth (Cook) Patterson as Kevin. He graduated from Vestaburg High School and attended two years of college, before joining the United State Navy. While in the Navy he married Gloria Rementer and they had two children, Theresa Marie and Ryan O'Neill Patterson. The marriage ended in divorce a few years later. Kevin continued taking college classes, while working several jobs. While working with the Florida Prison System, he was severely injured in an altercation with two inmates. He went on to become a licensed Private Detective and ran his own business. Finally, he completed college and became a licensed Psychologist in the State of Florida, where he earned the respect, gratitude and love of many. He discovered a change was taking place in his hormonal system and with the agreement and help from doctors, after many tests and exams, he became Eirinn. She really enjoyed her life and was respected, honored and loved by all who knew her. Eirinn is survived by her father, Michael Patterson; her daughter, Theresa Patterson and her children, Aubrey, Rufio, Elsie and Jayce; her son, Ryan Patterson and his children, Rylee, Gabriel and Lee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth; brother, Michael Scott Patterson; sister, Karen Sue Patterson Murton; and her grandparents. Cremation has taken place with services to be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Alma, where she will be laid to rest with her mother, brother and sister. I was going through some old notes and found some old sessions of ours. I decided to look you up and see how things were going. Now I find that you've gone.

You were my first therapist. You helped normalize therapy for me. Helped me lead others into it and help many.

You transitioned while we were together and I was so very glad to be a part of that. But... it was time for me to move on. I took a job. Moved my family. We had to say good-bye.

I don't believe in the hereafter. Not anymore. But because of wonderful people like you, I sure do hope to see you again. Some how.

I still think about Eirinn a lot. She was more like having a good, honest friend or a coach instead of a counselor. I wish that I had had the pleasure of knowing her longer. She had so much to impart to others. I was having a hard time when I first heard she passed and I had a dream that she was rising above me, with a big smile, cheering me on. That gave me comfort. Been thinking of her a lot lately, and thanking God that our paths crossed.

We we're the same age so we sort of are like Facebook sisters. She always uplifted me with her Facebook messages. My husband and I met her when we moved here to the Tampa area, and my memory of her will always be that of her living her best life! She was kind, smiling, dancing, giving, confident...and loved.
