Elbern E. "Bock" Bacoccini

1924 - 2020

Age 96, of Alma passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot. He was born April 11, 1924 in Placerville, California the son of Peter and Ramona (Sweeney) Bacoccini. Bock proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII in the Mediterranean North African Arena, before being honorably discharged. On February 10, 1943 he married Carol Buchler in Detroit, Michigan. Bock was a Master Diesel Mechanic owning and operating Bock’s Truck Service in Alma and later working with his son at Bock’s Radiator in Alma. He had a true passion for his work, continuing to serve his community for over 40 years. He was a member of the Alma VFW and the Alma Elks #1400. In his retirement he and Carol enjoyed traveling south in the winter months. Bock is survived by two sons, James (Karleen) Bacoccini of Virginia, David (Sandy) Bacoccini of Alma; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol, a daughter, Karen Kanine and his siblings, Eleanor Skiles, Marjorie Barrett, Richard Bacoccini. Per Bock’s wishes cremation has taken place with no services to be held at this time. Interment will be held at a later date in Chapel Gardens Cemetery.
