Eleanor Baxter Obituary

Baxter, Eleanor Eileen (Russell); age 88; of Zephyrhills, FL; went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2016. Eleanor was born on January 10, 1928 in Alma, Michigan. She is survived by 3 sons, Duane (Jane) of Port Isabel, TX, Dale of Columbus, GA and David (Bonnie) of Tucson, AZ. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Laurel; and sons, Dennis (Janice) of Durham, NC and Donald (Patricia) of Lakeland, FL. Eleanor also leaves behind her brother, Hugh (Vivien) of Travares, FL; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth (W.W.II), Dean (Mariam) of Tucson, AZ, Paul (Vivien) of Zephyrhills FL; and sister, Betty (Joe) Stiles of Ithaca, MI. Eleanor was a woman who loved God, her family and life. She was a feisty woman and always looking out for the underdog. She loved singing in the Sweet Adeline’s and even toured with a group of singers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorial Service to be held June 25, 2016, 11 a.m. at the Alma Church of the Nazarene, 335 E. Elizabeth St., Alma, MI.
