Keith Thrush Obituary
Keith J. Thrush; age 89, of Elwell, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at his home with family by his side.
Keith was born March 20, 1924 in Hamilton Township the son of Ernest and Mildred (Dayringer) Thrush. He graduated from Alma High School, the class of 1942. Upon graduating he entered into the Navy during W.W.II. Keith married Joyce Simison on January 12, 1949 in Alma. He worked for over 30 years as a painter, before retiring from Lobdell Emery. Keith volunteered with the American Cross. He was a devout man, and was a member of the Vestaburg Church of Christ. He had previously taught bible school at Coe Church of Christ and Vestaburg, and also helped with food drives. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Keith collected model trains.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce of Elwell; children, Richard (Bonnie) Keene of East Jordan, Dawn (Robert) Little of St. Louis, Linda Brooks of Elwell, Michael Thrush of Ithaca; 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Thrush of Alma.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Alfred Thrush.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Vestaburg Church of Christ with Pastor Tom McNerney officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Thrush Family or the Vestaburg Church of Christ.
