Michael Buccilli Obituary

Buccilli, Michael Jeffrey; 57; of Clare; passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born the son of Patsy and Marylee (Bertrand) Buccilli Jr. on June 11, 1957 in Highland Park, MI. His family moved to Clare in 1973 and opened Buccilli’s Pizza on the south end of Clare where Michael worked as a youth. After graduation, Michael joined the US Navy. Following his naval service to the country, he returned to Clare. He married Sheila Reynolds on November 18, 1983. Michael had been employed as an electronics technician in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma oilfields and then moved back to Michigan, working for RCA and General Electronics as an electronics technician. Ultimately, he moved back to Clare to raise his family. In 1996, he took a job with Soaring Eagle Casino as a Slot Technician. He left the casino in 2007 due to health reasons. From 2000 to 2013, Mike and his family owned and operated a manufacturing business in the prospecting industry making “The Gold Miner.” Mike enjoyed metal detecting, coin and antique collecting, and spending time with his family and dogs. He was a dedicated, passionate Red Wings and U of Mich. football fan. Survivors include his wife, Sheila; his mother, Marylee Buccilli of Farwell; his paternal grandmother, Mary Buccilli; his children, Chris (Jessica) Buccilli of Novi, Andrew (Lijuan) Buccilli of Tuscaloosa, AL, David Buccilli of East Lansing, Dan Buccilli of East Lansing, Amie (Eddy) Hawley of Farwell, and Michael Buccilli II of Clare; his grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Emma, Annaca, and Toby; and his siblings, Marc (Shari) Buccilli, Andrea (Mike) Dailey, Brian (Michelle) Buccilli, Talia Tripp, and Pat (Winter) Jagielo. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Patsy Buccilli Jr.; his grandparents, Patsy Buccilli and Elmer and Beatrice Bertrand; and sister- and brother-in-law, Jennifer Vanbuskirk and Keith Reynolds. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Parish—St. Cecilia Church, in Clare, officiated by Fr. Prentice Tipton. Burial will follow in the Wise Township Cemetery. Friends may meet with his family at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. A Scripture Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. If you are considering a floral condolence, the family requests that you consider an outdoors plant that can be planted at his grave for a memorial garden that will forever bloom.
