Knowing your dad is one of the best memories of our 30 years in Ithaca. He was such a super nice person and a friend to all. We absolutely loved his sense of humor! He will surely be missed.

Very sorry to hear of your father passing. Dick did well in life. I enjoyed knowing him as a classmate and teammate and knew he would be a good leader and gentleman. RIP, Dick. Roger Chaffee, '48

To the Showalter family. My husband Doug
taught with your dad for many years at Ithaca. He also played golf with my dad, Bob Brundage. He was such a nice man. Glad we knew him and your mom.
You have our deepest sympathies.

My condolences to all of the family on your loss. I have a lot of great memories of Coach, both from my years on the golf team and beyond that. I will always remember my freshman year, making the trip to the annual Ludington Invitational. Like the freshman golfers that came before us, Coach told us we needed to keep our eyes open for these birds called snipes on the course. He said they were notorious for sneaking out on the course and taking golf balls, mistaking them for their eggs. We would incur a penalty stroke for a lost ball. Needless to say he had us hook, line, and sinker. We were then responsible for helping Coach carry on the story with him for the next 3 years. One of kind coach and more importantly a great example for how to live life and treat others.
