Shirley McQueen Obituary

Shirley A. McQueen, age 82, of Weidman died Friday, December 24, 2021. She was born April 4, 1939 in Chili, Wisconsin, the daughter of Werner Sr. and Dora (Paitl) Andre. Shirley was a woman of many hobbies; she enjoyed bowling, shooting pool and hunting deer. She loved to listen to Elvis Presley and watch the Detroit Lions every Sunday. She and her husband, Ken, would travel to different casinos across Michigan, adding casino cards to their collection. In her later years, she enjoyed doing puzzles and tending to her large gardens full of flowers and vegetables. She is survived by her children, Cindy Brownlee of Weidman, Jerry (Heidi) Tennis of Big Rapids, Joe (Pennie) Tennis of Weidman; brothers, Gerald Andre, Werner (Carol) Andre Jr., nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth McQueen; sisters, Rosemary Williams, Jeannine Vallie; and brother, James Andre. Celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2022.
