Shirley Wenzel Obituary
Gardendale
Graveside service for Shirley Fay Wenzel, 71, of Gardendale will be Friday, June 15, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Bro. Rex Looney officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wenzel, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at her residence, was born November 9, 1940, in Decatur to Thomas W. and Elmeta Morris Hastings. She worked for R.T. Acker Public Accountants in Decatur for 30 years. Her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa W. Rice of Gardendale; one nephew, Rusty Montgomery of Alabaster; one sister, Betty Montgomery (Don) of Alabaster; and two grandchildren, Brandon Rice of Madison and Marcus Rice of Gardendale.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shelby County Special Olympics, c/o David K. Litton Jr., 2379 Freestone Ridge Cove, Hoover, AL 35226.
