Tamara Sue Gillis

1973 - 2022

Tamara Sue Gillis, age 49, of Breckenridge passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma. She was born January 15, 1973, in Alma to Terry Joseph and Sue Ann (Griffith) Vine. She was a 1991 graduate of Breckenridge High School and married Matthew Gillis on July 17, 1998. She worked as a purchasing agent for Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma. Tamara loved reading books and writing poetry. Her poetry always held such a special meaning, no matter what she wrote. She read more books than one could fathom. Her humor and "words of wisdom" were enjoyed and appreciated by her loved ones. What she loved most were her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing mother who devoted her life to raising and loving her two beautiful children. Near or far, she was their biggest supporter in life and always guided them with ease. With everything she has had to endure in life over the years, she is the strongest woman we know. She will be someone we will look up to and painfully miss for the rest of our lifetimes. Tamara is survived by her husband, Matthew Gillis; daughter, Alexandria Marion Gillis; son, Ashton Terry Matthew Gillis; grandchildren, Aurea Sue Brady, Bruce Matthew Wayne Brady, and Hollow Mitchell-Brady; sister, Jodie Raye Vine; and nephew, Michael David Mallory. She was preceded in death by her parents. In following Tamara's wishes, cremation has taken place with no services planned at this time. Those desiring may make memorial contributions in Tamara's memory to Howe Memorial Library. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge.
