Theodore Herman Hoffman

1933 - 2022

Theodore Herman Hoffman, 89 of Alma MI, passed away on November 10, 2022. Ted was born on April 5, 1933 to Herman and Frances Hoffman in Shepherd, Michigan. He was the youngest of their ten children and the last of his generation to join the family in eternal life. There are many things we know to be true about Ted. He was dedicated to his faith, a parishioner of St Patrick's Catholic Church in Irish town and St Vincent De Paul Catholic church in Shepherd. He had strong work ethic. He grew up in Shepherd working with his family farming and maintained a small sustainable farm throughout his life. He was devoted to his country, serving in Korea from November of 1953 until March of 1955 in 3rd and 7th division. His greatest accomplishment in life was his 65 years of marriage to his wife Judy and raising a large family of his own. He felt his family was the most important duty of his life. His ten children: Ron,nTerry, Greg, Valorie, Jeannette, Evelyn, Steve, Karla, Laurel and Brian, 25 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild were a tremendous source of pride. He taught his large family the value of hard work and always prioritizing and caring for family. He was our rock - the foundation from which we could boldly and courageously go out into the world. He will forever be with us as we carry his strong spirit with us every day. His love of family guides us as parents and grandparents and his sense of humor will sustain us on the most difficult of days. Services for Ted will be Wednesday, November 16 at St. Patrick's Church at 11 a.m. with Father Fred Kawka officiating. There will be visitation on Tuesday, November 15 at Berry Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
