Arlene MacLean June 5, 1926 - Dec. 17, 2010

Wilma Arlene MacLean, 84, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Woodland Hospice House.
Funeral services for Billie will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 20th at11 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Siedlecki and James MacLean, III officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19th from 3-6 p.m. and on Monday, December 20th from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodland Hospice House. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Billie was born on June 5, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant the daughter of John and Doris (Bryant) Brien. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School class of 1944 and was heavily involved in the reunion committee. Billie worked as a secretary for Optometrist Dr. Brown during the 1940's and 1950's. She belonged to a monthly bridge club; was a former PTA President and savings bond "Cookie Lady" at Vowels Elementary School; Den Mother and Cub Scout leader. Billie enjoyed giving parties and served as a chaperone to the 1957 Miss Isabella County who became Miss Michigan in 1958.
Billie is survived by her children, James R. (Diane) MacLean, II; John B. MacLean both of Mt. Pleasant and Jacqui (Guy) Cantu of Schertz, Texas; son in law, Dennis West of Mt. Pleasant and former husband James " Red" MacLean of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Kris (Joe) Wells of St. Louis, MI; James, III (Dawn) MacLean of Mt. Pleasant; Jason MacLean of Phoenix, AZ; Jason Smith of Weidman, MI; SPC Eduard Guy Cantu, II of Orlando, FL; Jennifer Bolle of Mt. Pleasant; Marie (Steve) Rawson of Farwell; Lindsay West and Deana West both of Mt. Pleasant; great grandchildren, Jacob Wells; Linde Bolle; Sophia Smith; Ashley Rawson; Allison Rawson, Mckenna Smith, Erica Sokol; Josh Sokol; and Gabrielle Perkins; sisters, Jacqueline Sublett and Janet Wilson both of Mt. Pleasant and extended family member Andy Foster.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Judi West; sisters, Jean Taylor and Dorothy Brien; brothers in law, Clarence Sublett; George Taylor and Glenn Wilson.

I will miss you a great deal Grandma Abel! Thanks for teaching me so much about being a good person. I will always cherish my time at Coldwater Lake with Jimmy when we were young. I take comfort in knowing that you and Aunt Judi are together again. Love you!!!
