Herman James Obituary

HARVEY, IL: Herman W. James, Sr., 91, formerly of Fremont, most recently of Harvey, IL, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Mr. James, was born August 15, 1917 in Chicago, IL, the youngest son of six children born to Arthur and Pearl James. Herman grew up in Chicago, IL, where he resided until moving to Port Clinton in 1948. He served in the Army during WWII. Herman worked as a shearer operator for Clauss Cutlery for 25 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fremont as well as Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Herman was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Celia James; and his five siblings, Arthur II, Pauline, Geneva, Dorothy and Sadie.
Surviving are his sons, Herman (Denise) James II of Harvey, IL, and Crawford (Brendan) James of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren; 13 great grand children; six great great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews; and a host of brothers and sisters -in -law.
Visitation will take place Monday, August 3, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. - 12 p.m at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont, OH. Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association
