Paul Baskey Obituary
Fremont - Paul R. Baskey, 60, of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. He was born on June 12, 1960 in Fremont to Louis and Ruth Ann (Rutan) Baskey. He was a 1979 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Paul served in the US Coast Guard from 1979 to 1983 and was awarded the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal and the M-16 Rifle Marksman Ribbon.
Paul worked at IAC for twenty years. He was a member of the American Bikers Aimed Towards Education. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He adamantly defended the Constitution, especially his Second Amendment rights. His nickname was "Blind Paul".
Paul is survived by his son, Paul L. Baskey, Fremont, OH; siblings, John Baskey and Mike Baskey both of Fremont, OH, LouAnn (Tom) Eaton, Elmore, OH; grandchildren, Yuseef Atkins and Cylar Baskey; best friend, Springer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rachelle Lynn Baskey; siblings, David and Phil Baskey.
Visitation: Saturday, May 8, 2021 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Military Honors will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home provided by the VFW and American Legion.
Memorials can be made to the family.

Paul and Springer both took me under their wing and brought me into ABATE. I learned a lot from Paul. He was one of my closest friends, and I called him my brother. We did a lot of events together, and we spent a lot of time together every Haunted Hydro season working the parking lot. He taught me the Robert's rules so that I was a better sergeant at arms in our meetings. He was my go-to guy when I didn't understand certain things.
