Ruth Williamson Obituary
Gibsonburg - Ruth Sharon Williamson, 85, passed away on January 12, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on September 9, 1935 in Fremont, Ohio to Paul and Ruth (Egbert) Anderson. Sharon graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1953 and attended Gayle Institute in Minneapolis for a year. On April 16, 1955 she married John Williamson at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fremont and they were married 65 years until her passing.
Sharon was a loving and devoted homemaker and mother. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss her terribly. She and John traveled extensively in their younger years, and can boast having visited the New England states, Canada, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and St. Thomas in the Caribbean for her granddaughter's wedding. They also enjoyed snowmobiling in Northern Michigan for 30 years.
Sharon was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, a lifetime member of the Fremont VFW and Eagles, and played in various bowling leagues and card clubs.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John Williamson of Gibsonburg, children; Dennis (Kathy) Williamson, Sheryl (Randy) Fork both of Perrysburg, Douglas Williamson of Genoa, grandchildren; Lindsay, Kyle, Amber, Nathan, Stacy, Ashley, Jonathon, 12 great-grandchildren, siblings; Paul (Ramona) Anderson of Huron, OH, Cynthia Wise of Lakeside, OH, William (Sharon) Anderson of Elmore, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Joseph Wise.
Services will be held privately for the family. Burial will take place at West Union Cemetery in Gibsonburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 S. Brentwood Drive, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431 or the Alzheimer's Association by visiting www.alz.org.
