Carmen Bivins Obituary

Carmen Rivera Bivins, 65, of Leitchfield, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

She was a native of Fort Knox and was a caregiver for Home Health. Carmen loved humming birds and was a great cook. Caregiving was in her blood and she took care of everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffery Bivins; her parents, Enrique and Teresa Bonilla Rivera; a daughter, Chasity Ray; and a grandson, Jordan Ray.

Survivors include two sons, Shaun (Natasha) Ray of Elizabethtown and Derick Ray of Rineyville; a daughter, Christy Bodle of Campbellsville; a brother, Candido Rivera; three sisters, Mindy Crawford, Sandra Alvey and Maria Chaney; and nine grandchildren, Tuff, Liah, Makayla, Levi, Ryan, Faith, Leland, Luciana and Anthony.

Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

I miss you with all my heart you´re dearly missed and loved I wish I would have came over way more often instead of stopping coming over every weekend I wish I would have saw you one last time you where like a mom and a grandma to me i wish I had more time with you you´re gone to soon

thank you for all the time you spent with me and all the memories we have together I remember talking to you about how you helped clean up the messes I made and how you cleaned my diapers when I was a little girl and how we would wave goodbye to the garage man and we would always say thank you for taking our dirty diapers you were like a grandma to me and seeing you in that casket broke me I always think about you non stop from when i wake up and go to sleep you are gone too soon you´re wings where ready but my heart wasn´t I remember our saying I´ll love you as high as the sky and as deep as the ocean and the book you would read to us at night I miss you so much forever rest and peace until I see you again. and I´m so so sorry for you´re guys loss she was a great lady and the light of my life she impacted my life a lot thank you guys for the time I spent with you´re beautiful amazing intelligent incredible mom. She knew me since I was born and she put the best time of my life there and my papaw loved her too.

Dear Friends, I am so sorry to learn of Carmen´s death. I attended First Christian Church and was in youth group with you all n the 1970s (my nickname was Ag or Agatha). I will be keeping your family in my prayers. May God grant you peace and comfort.
