David Shipp Obituary
David was an exceptional and loving father who trained and practiced as a colorectal surgeon primarily at Baptist Hospital. He loved surgery and loved helping people.
He was born into a loving family in Sonora, the eldest of four children who remained close and met twice yearly to exchange stories, share a meal and meet new members of the growing family. David loved fresh water fishing and traveled annually to Canada with friends to fish for muskie. He was eager to introduce new members to the fishing club to share the experience.
David is survived by his wife, Rose; his children, Sallie and Daniel Shipp; brothers, Robert Shipp and John Shipp (Nancy); and sister, Susan Keith (Roy).
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lakota Fund for the Children, 7819 Notch Mtn., Littleton, CO 80127 or Humane Society, 1000 Lyndon Lane, Suite B, Louisville KY 40222.

Dr. Shipp is a wonderful person. I worked with him in surgery and he treated me when I had a bout of cancer. He was so comforting and helped me through my ordeal. Truly a fine doctor. My condolences to the family. Sherry O.
