Frances Brackett Obituary
She was born in Sonora on Aug. 13, 1938, to the late Herman and Ruth Smith Robinson. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Frances and Charles spent the next 65 years on the Brackett family farm in Upton. Frances was a secretary of the Hardin County Board of Education, Upton Elementary School. She was an active member of Lucas Grove Baptist Church and Kentucky Public Retirees. An avid traveler, she and Charles spent summers traveling in their RV, visiting all 50 states, Mexico and Canada. Devoted to her family, she was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother and a friend to all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Patton; and a brother, James Robinson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Charles R. Brackett of Upton; a son, Chuck (Carolyn) Brackett of Fernandina Beach, Florida; two daughters, Vicki (Lance) Meredith of Elizabethtown and Pam (Gary) Porter of Lexington; two sisters, Joann (David) Stewart of Cub Run and Doris Ingram of Las Vegas; four brothers, Bill (Jennie) Robinson of Horse Cave, Herbert (Gayle) Robinson of Sonora, Hubert Robinson of Mount Sterling and Michael (Sharon) Robinson of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie) Brackett and Jason Brackett; two great-grandchildren, Nichole Young and Christian Brackett; and a great-great-grandchild , Owen Young.
The funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Lucas Grove Baptist Church in Upton with the Rev. Brandon Sehein officiating. Burial follows in Brackett Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and continues from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton.
The family requests every visitor wear a mask or face cover and practice social distancing.
