Gailand Cottrell Obituary
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Cottrell; and his parents, Maedroma Belknap and Glenuel Cottrell.
Survivors include a son, Alan Kendrick Cottrell; two sisters, Gloria Hawkins and her husband, Johnny, of Tompkinsville and Gaye Smith of Campbellsville; a brother, Greg Cottrell and his wife, Vicky, of Elizabethtown; two nieces, Shannon Colvin of Campbellsville and Brandy Mulverhill of Sweetwater, Texas; two nephews, William Lee Smith of Lexington and Donnie Lee Smith of Lafayette, Indiana; six great-nieces, two great-nephews and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service for Mr. Cottrell is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Lucas Cartage & Storage of Elizabethtown.
Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove is in charge of arrangements.

Gailand I'm going to miss you and Alan stopping by the house just to say hi. I'm going to miss all the fun times we've had since we were little kids! You have always been a good friend, a fun person to hang out with. I had the privilege of working with you for a few years at Lucas cartridge & storage .. you was always fun to hang out with, and go to the Christmas parties at Lucas. You always enjoyed working with wood, and can make beautiful art with wood. You will always be missed.. you will live on through your son and a very fine young man, just like his dad.
